ArmInfo. The admission of Armenian applicants to foreign universities will be organized after agreement with foreign partners. Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan announced this at a press conference on April 28.
As noted, admission to universities under interstate agreements will be carried out after clarification by the Ministry of Education of Armenia, the number of allocated places, the timing of admission, as well as the possibility of organizing the educational process. This information should be obtained from partner countries with which interstate agreements have been concluded.
As for the educational processes within Armenia itself, here the distance education system will operate in schools until May 22 (in the case of five-day school-week) and until May 23 (in the case of six -day school-week). The possibility of organizing additional lessons in the new school year, in October-September, and in cases where there will be a lag of students from the current curriculum is also discussed. The possibility of starting a new school year a week earlier is also possible.
As previously reported, final exams at the end of IV, IX, X, XI, XII grades, as well as in colleges and schools, will not be held, and annual grade will be formed on the basis of performance indicators until March 13, and after, when in connection with the emergency, a transition to distance education was announced. Andreasyan noted that the decision was made taking into account the fact that 15-20% of students are not involved in distance education due to the lack of appropriate devices. Earlier, the deficit of technical equipment was estimated at about 24 thousand units, and this issue was only partially resolved by donations from individual individuals and legal entities. So, from the side of VivaCell-MTS, 500 smartphones were allocated for these purposes.
According to the deputy minister, certificates will be issued to students by May 25, and entrance examinations at universities will be held in the first ten days of July. At the same time, the exam will be conducted in only one subject in the chosen specialty, and there will be no oral examinations. Exams for graduate school and master's program will be held June 16-30; their results will be summarized until July 5.
As for the enrollment of schoolchildren in the first grade, this process will be carried out on the basis of electronic applications. As expected, this process will start in the first ten days of June.
