ArmInfo. On April 24, a large-scale concert program will be held at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Ara Khzmalyan at a press conference on April 23.
The concert program will start on the evening of April 24 at 22:00, and it will last until April 25 at 06:00. According to Khzmalyan, about 60 performances are planned, in which about 160 artists will take part. These are, in particular, philharmonic and symphony orchestras, string quartets, choral groups, and so on. Based on safety considerations in the current situation with coronavirus, participants in a large-scale concert will not simultaneously be on the territory of the Memorial complex. In addition, a maximum of five musicians or artists will perform from creative groups.
Khzmalyan informed that the concert program will be diverse, presenting both national musical instruments and jazz compositions of works of the Middle Ages. Famous artists who have gained international fame will also perform before the audience. "It will be a rich musical palette that will fully demonstrate our creative potential," he emphasized. Today, April 23, at 21:00, the lights of squares and streets in Yerevan and regions of the country will go out under the sound of church bells, and residents in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide will be able to turn on the lights of their mobile phones at their windows. This action will find its symbolic display in the Memorial complex, which will be shown live on the Public Television of Armenia. We add that on April 24, to the 105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, 105 thousand flowers will be assigned to the eternal flame of the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex by the Government of Armenia. On the same day, starting from 08:00, citizens can send a message with a symbolic value of 1 dram to the short number 1915 (from Armenia) and number 0037433191500 (from abroad) to confirm their absentee participation in the sacrament of the day. The names of the citizens who sent the message will be displayed on the columns of the memorial. This virtual procession, which will be broadcast live, will begin on April 24 at 22:00 and will last until dawn. Thus, citizens from all over the world will be able to take part in the march.
