ArmInfo. The bureau of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" party expresses its concern about the latest statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in which the latter raised the issue of a peaceful settlement of the Artsakh issue.
The statement by the Party Bureau, in particular, reads: "We also express our concern that Lavrov made this statement before the videoconference of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan. In any formula for resolving the conflict, the recognition of Artsakh's independence should be on the first place. And any agreement between the parties should be adequate and simultaneous''. The statement also notes that it is necessary to carry out work based on a clear concept, including the signing of the Agreement on military-political cooperation between Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh, and take active steps towards international recognition of the NKR.
<We hope and demand that the Armenian authorities in the negotiation process be guided by a referendum held by the people of Artsakh in 1991, which reflected the will of the people of NKR. The Armenian authorities are obliged to officially declare that there is no document on the stage-by-stage solution of the Artsakh conflict, and that the RA is not subjected to external pressure, demanding to sign the document. At the same time, it should be noted that the only way to resist external pressure is national unity, and the leadership of Armenia bears the responsibility for its formation. Each of us bears our share of responsibility in the matter of a peaceful settlement of the Artsakh issue '', the ARF Bureau concludes.
It should be noted that on April 21, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told about the process of peace talks on Nagorno-Karabakh. He noted, in particular, that there is a document on the negotiating table providing for a phased settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Lavrov, in particular, said: "These documents imply progress towards a settlement on the basis of a phased approach, assuming at the first stage the solution of the most pressing problems, the liberation of a number of areas around Nagorno-Karabakh and the unblocking of transport, economic, and other communications. So, I am convinced that when we come to the decision to sign these documents, this will be the most important step in the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions that demanded an end to the war and begin to agree. Now we need to come to an agreement, and this is our goal as co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group>, the Russian minister concluded.
It should be noted that the political leadership of Armenia and Artsakh, in the public field, constantly insisted on a package formula for resolving the Karabakh conflict. According to observers, one way or another, but the peace process around the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in recent years has been in a state of "clinical death".
