ArmInfo.The parliamentary committee to investigate the events of the April war is doing everything possible to establish all the details of the processes that took place in April 2016. Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan stated this in an interview with reporters on April 17.
He, in particular, stated: <To be honest, I am not familiar with the details of the committee's work, but in general I'm aware. I hope that when the committee finishes its work, it will have all the comprehensive information in its hands>, the speaker emphasized.
Regarding the participation of the third president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in the meeting of the committee, Mirzoyan stated: "I am sure that the committee will study all the information that Serzh Sargsyan presented during the meeting. Sargsyan was duly received and organized his entry into the territory of the parliament from the entrance through which the speaker enters>.
It should be noted that on April 16, Serzh Sargsyan took part in a meeting of the parliamentary commission to investigate the events of the April war of 2016.
To recall, the parliamentary committee to investigate the circumstances of the April war in Karabakh was created in 2019. The Committee included representatives of all factions of the National Assembly. The purpose of its work is to identify possible errors, shortcomings or inaction on the part of the then authorities during the aforementioned period of aggravation of the situation at the border, which led to the death of more than 100 Armenian troops. The commission was visited by former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Artak Davtyan, and former CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov refused to attend the committee's meeting.
