ArmInfo. In Armenia, coronavirus is already becoming the cause of the destruction of family and kinships. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during a government meeting on April 16. The prime minister once again called the population to civil responsibility, noting that if this measure is followed, it will be possible to keep the situation with coronavirus under control.
This is especially important given the gradual relaxation of restrictions on economic activity, in light of which the provision of security measures by employers is of paramount importance. "We must live in conditions of coronavirus, and everyone should be especially responsible for their behavior," he emphasized. As an example, Pashinyan cited the situation in the Norashen community of the Ararat region. So, for one of the isolated citizens, an exception was made for attending a memorial event maintaining social distance. He attended a funeral event accompanied by an epidemiologist and a policeman, but could not restrain his emotions, and embraced his loved ones as a consolation. After he was diagnosed with coronavirus, which forced the Commandant to isolate the entire Norashen community for preventive purposes.
The prime minister also pointed out the importance of civic responsibility in the light of the 105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide celebrated on April 24, as the desire of citizens to participate in the mass memorial event could result in a large-scale spread of coronavirus and new victims. According to Pashinyan, now the coronavirus is becoming the cause of the destruction of family ties and kinships, which also indicates the importance of observing security measures and personal control of everyone for their behavior in the situation with COVID-19. In total, 1,159 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the republic, 358 people recovered, 783 patients received actual treatment, and 18 died.
