Newly elected NKR President accuses some politicians of politicizing  problems related to coronavirus

ArmInfo. Aryaik Harutyunyan, who won the presidential election in Artsakh, said at a press conference on April 15 that there was no political persecution in the country,  and there would never be. According to Harutyunyan, during the  election campaign his opponents tried to politicize the issue related  to the spread of coronavirus infection in the country. He stated that  the conditions under which the elections were held were indeed very  difficult, not only because of problems related to  the coronavirus,  but also because a number of candidates decided to boycott the vote.

<It seems to me that these people did not care about the people at  all, but realized the results of the voting. Their statements on  postponement of the elections were exclusively political in nature>,  Harutyunyan emphasized.  At the same time, according to the latter,  he has no, and never had, problems with individual politicians. <Yes,  during the election campaign, offensive statements were made from  time to time, and I even thought about going to court. However, I  changed my mind. After all, the threat of coronavirus and the  subsequent economic consequences after it require consolidation of  forces. However, one person is still an exception. I will not say his  name, but I want to note that he is not even a citizen of Artsakh. He  made stupid statements about millions and the funeral>, Harutyunyan  emphasized, threatening that a report would be released about this  person in the near future, which would reveal his true essence.   (Probably, Harutyunyan meant  hero of Artsakh, t leader of the  "United Homeland" party Samvel Babayan . The fact is that Babayan  previously stated that Harutyunyan was handing out millions to voters  during wedding and mourning ceremonies. Moreover, everyone knows that  Babayan was deprived of Artsakh citizenship, Ed. note)

As for the personnel policy, according to Harutyunyan, officials  should work as transparently and professionally as possible, as well  as be accessible to citizens. According to the ex-state minister of  NKR there will be people who will remain in their posts, but there  will also be personnel changes. The newly elected president also  denied talking that he had previously met with Samvel Babayan and  offered the latter a post. "If there were agreements, then the public  would know about them," Harutyunyan concluded.
