ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan noted the importance of holding elections in Artsakh.
On the air of the Public Television of Armenia, the Minister noted that the elections in Artsakh are important from the standpoint of protecting human rights, regional security and the peace process. At the same time, he expressed confidence that the newly elected authorities of Artsakh will continue to provide comprehensive security for the country. "Of course, Armenia has been and remains the guarantor of Artsakh's security," Mnatsakanyan added.
The Foreign Minister also emphasized that the Artsakh authorities decided to hold elections, taking into account and assessing all risks. <We respect this decision>, he noted.
National elections in Artsakh were held on March 31. According to their results, five political forces will be represented in the National Assembly of Artsakh: the Free Homeland bloc, the United Homeland party, the Justice party, the Dashnaktsutyun ARF and the Artsakh Democratic Party. The second round of the presidential election is scheduled for April 14, in which Arayik Harutyunyan and Masis Mayilyan will take part.
