ArmInfo. The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has prepared amendments to the Labor Code, which envisage a partial restoration of the functions of control over the implementation by employers of labor legislation.
This was stated at a press conference by the Minister for Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan, answering the question that today, in a crisis situation, employers are grossly violating labor laws and driving people out of work. She noted that the ministry does not have tools for monitoring legislation, since back in 2013 the Labor Inspectorate was liquidated, whose powers included the function of supervision and application of penalties. She emphasized that amendments to the labor legislation aimed at returning these functions to the department. She confirmed that the agency today receives a lot of signals about this.
At the same time, according to RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, this behavior of employers, in the first place, contradicts the logic of the business itself, which should be no less than the state, interested in maintaining jobs, in the loyalty of the labor collective. He emphasized that company employees should feel the most difficult financial situation today.
