ArmInfo. Airline with 220 Armenian citizens on board, flew from Moscow Domodedovo airport to Yerevan today.
According to the RA Embassy in the Russian Federation, this charter flight sent to Armenia citizens who had been waiting for departure at hotels near the airport for several days.
As ArmInfo previously wrote, due to the cancellation of the flight from Domodedovo on April 2 in Yerevan, a group of citizens found themselves in a hopeless situation.
One of the passengers posted a video on the network with an appeal to the government of Armenia and asked for help.
Then the representative of the Union of Armenians of Russia Shahen Petrosyan came to passengers, who provided several dozen compatriots with hot meals, and then placed them in a hotel.
The embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Russian Federation also assured that they were in constant contact with compatriots and provided them with all possible assistance, while the passengers assured that they had not received assistance from the diplomatic mission and simply could not get through to the hotline number.
It should be also noted that earlier the Armenian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Vardan Toghanyan in an interview with one of the Armenian media reported that today about 2,000 citizens wish to return to their homeland, but so far there is no proper opportunity for this.
Earlier, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with deputy prime ministers on Monday spoke about the return of Russians to Russia. According to Mishustin, the cancellation of all flights for the return of Russians from abroad does not mean that Russia refused to return them.
"I want to emphasize: Russia did not refuse to return its citizens from other countries, we never leave our people. On the contrary, in a situation when the borders are closed, flights are canceled, we are making efforts so that everyone who wants, returns home," he said .
At the same time, he urged the Russians to be responsible and write applications for departure only if they really need to return to Russia right now. Mishustin noted that some citizens applied for export flights, but did not appear for landing. "The planes flew home literally empty, and those who needed to fly on them could not get there," he said at a meeting.
You can apply for export from abroad on the government services portal. The schedule of the first flights of the return of Russians from abroad will appear on the evening of April 6, flights will begin on the same day, the prime minister said. Information about such flights will be published on the portal "stopkoronavirus.rf".
The Russians, who will not be able to fly to Russia due to the cancellation of flights, will receive financial support until they return to the country or resume flights, Mishustin added. Money will be credited to cards up to 48 hours after application. The government has already brought to the Foreign Ministry 500 million rubles to pay for temporary residence of Russians remaining abroad, he said.
Thus, it is likely that Armenian citizens who are stuck in Russia will be able to take this opportunity and return home with flights intended for the return of Russians from Armenia.
