ArmInfo. The regular dissemination by the Azerbaijani authorities of false information about the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, as well as on the Line of Contact between Armenia and Artsakh in order to conceal or justify violations of the ceasefire and international humanitarian law, is worthy of condemnation. This is stated in the commentary of the Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Naghdalyan, regarding the misinformation spread by the Azerbaijani side.
<To recall, on March 30, as a result of a ceasefire violation by the Azerbaijani armed forces, a minor resident of the village of Voskevan in the Tavush region and two servicemen were injured.
It should be noted that during this military incident, Azerbaijani armed forces targeted a civilian in a civilian infrastructure - a child, which is a clear violation of international humanitarian law.
It is obvious that Azerbaijan is trying to use the temporary suspension of monitoring in the conflict zone by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office caused by the spread of coronavirus infection in order to commit ceasefire violations and disseminate false information.
We once again emphasize our commitment to respect the appeals of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the UN Secretary General and to observe the ceasefire unconditionally and to refrain from provocative actions during this period.
To note, in such situations, the importance of implementing the agreements reached to reduce risks and create effective international mechanisms for this purpose is emphasized'', the statement reads.
