The government approved the next program of social assistance in connection with COVID-19
ArmInfo. On April 2, at the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the next program was approved for assisting families who found themselves in a difficult social situation in connection with the situation with coronavirus.
As the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Zaruhi Batoyan noted, assistance programs can be used by families that have a child or children under the age of 18, and which meet a number of requirements. So, the beneficiaries of the program can be parents or a parent who, as of March 12, 2020, were not officially registered at the place of work, or were not officially hired during the period from March 12 to March 30, 2020. In addition, families who are not involved before March 12, 2020 in the social assistance system or who have a total score below 28.01 can use it.
The program also extends to non-working and single parents, regardless of their status, and those whose business activities were terminated by order of the government in connection with the situation with coronavirus. Meanwhile, those families where parents from January 1 to March 1, 2020 had permanent or temporary work, and the parent's salary or the total salary of the parents exceeded 500 thousand drams will not be able to use it.
Another condition is the permanent residence of the parent / parents and the child / children in Armenia, while on March 12-30, 2020, at least one parent or child should have been in the country. According to Batoyan, this program provides for a lump sum payment of 26500 drams per child. It can also be used by those families that do not fit the criteria of other assistance program..
Corresponding regulations will be developed until April 9, after which the beneficiaries will be able to fill out online applications on the website www.online.ssa.am.
