ArmInfo. In connection with the spread of coronavirus infection in the world, the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia has established new regulations for trucks in its country. This was reported by the press service of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.
According to the source, the control carried out in relation to truck wagons, which over the past two weeks were located in countries where coronavirus is very active, will be tightened. These countries, in particular, include China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, Austria, Germany, France, Norway, Switzerland, Spain and Denmark. At the same time, drivers who were in these countries will be assigned escort throughout the entire period of cargo transportation through the territory of Georgia - from checkpoint to checkpoint.
Moreover, drivers who have been in the above countries over the past two weeks and who import goods into Georgia will be replaced by people who are not at risk, after which customs officials will disinfect the vehicles. If the truck drivers turn out to be a foreigner, the latter will return to the country from which he arrived, if he is a citizen of Georgia, then he will go to quarantine.
In other cases, the cargo tractor may be replaced by one that does not contain any risk, customs officers will disinfect the trailer, and the tractor will be sent back in the direction from which it arrived. If replacement of the driver is not possible, then the car will reach the nearest checkpoint, where the cargo will be transferred to another car.
For drivers who arrived from countries outside the risk zone, certain requirements will also be applied. In particular, their temperature will be measured, and also check for other symptoms of the virus. If the driver is a foreigner and he has symptoms of this disease, he will return to the country from which he arrived, if he is a citizen of Georgia, he will be sent to quarantine. In turn, the cargo will go through the process of checking cargo arriving from countries at risk.
