ArmInfo. Nork Infectious Disease Hospital operates in overstressed mode. Minister of Healthcare of Armenia Arsen Torosyan stated at a press conference on March 19.
The Minister noted that at the moment all patients are being delivered to the Infectious Diseases Hospital. According to him, in the near future clinics will be clearly defined, where only patients with the virus will be served. This is necessary to prevent nosocomial infections.
"A Nork hospital will also have a modular reception room and 40 new hospital rooms. Unfortunately, weather conditions have prevented the construction, but I hope that the construction will be completed in the coming days," Torosyan said. He also emphasized that at the moment, unfortunately, there are no more qualified infectious disease doctors in Armenia. "We are trying to somehow make it easier to take them into account, and organize the watch so that the doctors can rest, otherwise, they just can't work. Moreover, we also intend to organize retraining courses for doctors by therapist. We intend to retrain them not infectious disease specialists, namely, doctors who are involved in the fight against coronavirus. Naturally, these doctors will work to control the infection. I think that in the coming days we will take up the implementation of this program and will be able to provide the population not bhodimym number of doctors," Torosyansaid .
It should be noted that 122 cases of coronavirus infection have already been detected in Armenia. Recall that the Government of Armenia on March 16, in order to prevent the threat of the spread of coronavirus, decided to introduce a state of emergency throughout the country from 18:30 on March 16 to 17:00 on April 14.
