According to the source, during the meeting they discussed issues on the organization of further educational process. The possibilities and problems of organizing distance learning were discussed. Given the specifics of universities, the rectors presented their proposals and approaches on this issue.
As a result, given the spread of the coronavirus in the country, as well as the state of emergency, it was decided to turn to the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Araik Harutyunyan, with a request to ensure the continuity of the educational process at universities and the organization of training in a new format.
"In compliance with the state of emergency, to allow universities to carry out the knowledge testing process based on the specifics of these universities with the maximum use of information technology. Moreover, universities are responsible for the results of this knowledge test. When moving working days, keep staff salaries and their right to rest".
It should be noted that on March 16, due to the spread of the coronavirus in Armenia, the country switched to a state of emergency, which will last until April 14. All schools temporarily stopped working. Meanwhile, according to the country's Ministry of Health, the number of people infected with coronavirus has reached 115.
