ArmInfo. An Ombudsman creates an expert council for the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities.
According to the press service of the Ombudsman's office, the Council's goal is to promote respect for the dignity of persons with disabilities, guarantee the full and equal enjoyment of human rights and freedoms, participate in decision-making, and so on. The immediate tasks of the Council are to ensure the involvement of civil society representatives in the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities, identify systemic problems and submit proposals for their solution, conduct research and analysis aimed at the effectiveness of the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities.
The issues of the concept and functions of the Council were previously discussed with the Ombudsman, public organizations and independent experts in the field of the rights of persons with disabilities.
