ArmInfo. There is no shortage of products in the warehouses of Armenian retail chains. On March 17, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated this live on his Facebook page.
He noted that the market has seen an increase in prices for groceries, in particular cereals, grains, etc., which is associated with panic purchases by citizens. In this regard, the Prime Minister called on citizens to remain calm.
Pashinyan also drew attention to the fact that the increase in the cost of alcohol, which is much discussed today, is associated not with the coronavirus, but with the changes in the RA Tax Code that were introduced before the coronavirus.
Regarding disinfectants, the prime minister stated that their price remained the same. Moreover, referring to his sources, Pashinyan emphasized that recently in Armenia's large supermarkets there has been an increase in trade by an average of 30-40%, while in small retail outlets, on the contrary, a decline has been recorded. In this regard, the prime minister urged citizens not to forget about small and medium-sized businesses, and to make purchases also in convenience stores, where there is an accumulation of necessary goods.
