ArmInfo. The persons responsible for the April war cannot, do not have the moral right to apply not only for the post of President of Artsakh, but even for a deputy mandate. A similar opinion was expressed by ArmInfo Artsakh security expert Rachya Arzumanyan.
"Among them, those who occupied the second and third posts in Artsakh in April 2016, Araik Harutyunyan and Ashot Gulyan. Before applying for the presidency, they must answer before the people for the results of April: the death of more than 100 military and civilians, lost territories" - he noted.
According to Arzumanyan, in a small, belligerent country, becoming a millionaire in 12 years can only be done by robbing the national treasure. In this light, the same one who occupied the post of Artsakh Prime Minister Araik Harutyunyan during this period, it is necessary to first explain to the people how he became a millionaire, and only then apply for the post of head of the republic.
The main competitors in the upcoming March 31 presidential and parliamentary elections in Artsakh are ex-minister of state, one of the richest people in the country Araik Harutyunyan and current Foreign Minister Masis Mayilyan. Harutyunyan is supported by the current authorities of Artsakh, Mayilyana is ex- commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Samvel Babayan, several other political forces. In total, 12 presidential candidates registered in the Artsakh CEC.
In the light of such realities, the expert is concerned about the protection of the rights of the local oligarchy to continue to rule in Artsakh by part of the Artsakh people. According to him, such people are stubbornly reluctant to realize that spilled blood must be answered. These same people do not realize that having stood next to such candidates, they become their accomplices.
"And if I can explain somewhere the behavior of young people who don't know what they're doing, now I've experienced enough disappointment from the behavior of those over 50. But they have children, grandchildren, and they know for sure that they will be responsible for their the choice of the fate of their descendants. I understand their motives with the brains, but I can't accept such a choice. So, risking the future of my descendants for the people who know the value of children is simply unthinkable, "summed up Arzumanyan.
