ArmInfo.Chinese authorities are tightening their entry into the country in connection with measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic. This was reported by the RA MFA with reference to the Armenian Embassy in China.
"Given the fact that the Chinese authorities highly appreciate the penetration of coronavirus into the territory of the country from other countries, the Beijing authorities are introducing some toughening. So, from 00:00 hours on March 16 all foreign citizens arriving in Beijing (all flights will be operated only to Beijing) , after an appropriate preliminary examination, they will be centrally transferred to a special designated point (Expo-center) for 14-day quarantine, which will be carried out in places provided by the government - from Lyakh at the expense of passengers.
Transit passengers leaving the Beijing airport on the same day will be waiting at specially designated points on the airport territory, then they will be escorted to the departure terminal. Transit passengers who will be scheduled to depart the next day will be transferred to the above designated hotels where they will have to rent a room at their own expense and will be transferred to the departure terminal on that day. Beijing authorities have also warned passengers that providing false information about travel will be punishable, including criminal prosecution.
It is also reported that there are no changes regarding the rules of entry into Shanghai and Guangzhou, and all arriving passengers in the above cities after passing a medical examination will have to be self-insulated for 14 days at the place of residence. All medical services are provided at the expense of citizens. " Note that according to the latest data, coronavirus has already been detected in 155 countries and territories. In total, more than 157,000 cases of infection have been officially confirmed in the world, more than 5,800 people have died, almost 76,000 patients have recovered. Almost 81,000 cases and more than 3,000 deaths occur in China, which has become the focus of a new infection.
Currently, the epicenter of the coronavirus has moved to Europe, where Italy has become the most affected country. There are 21,157 cases of infection, 1,441 people have died. The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced the onset of the coronavirus pandemic causing pneumonia COVID-19.
