According to the source, Shushan Stepanyan was born in 1988 in the city of Hadrut (Artsakh Republic). From 2005 to 2009, she studied at the Yerevan State University at the Faculty of Journalism, which she graduated with honors. In 2007-2009 worked as an investigative journalist in the electronic publication <Trace > (Hetq.am). Since 2009, she was accepted to contract military service as a correspondent in the newspaper of the Ministry of Defense "Hay Zinvor" (Armenian soldier). Since 2019, serves in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, has the rank of major.
Shushan Stepanyan's father - Shahen Stepanyan was an active participant in the Karabakh war, posthumously awarded the Order of the "Battle Cross" of the 2nd degree. To recall, earlier the post of press secretary of the RA Ministry of Defense was occupied by Artsrun Hovhannisyan, who resigned on March 6.
