ArmInfo. On March 12, State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, chairman of the interagency commission to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Grigory Martirosyan, discussed with head of the Artsakh Ministry of Healthcare Arayik Baghiryan the work done to prevent the disease.
The Minister of State, in particular, inquired about progress in preventing the virus. According to Baghiryan's current data, no cases of new type of coronavirus infection have been recorded in the republic to date. In total, about 40 samples were sent to Armenia for laboratory analysis, and all responses were negative. As part of efforts to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, the Artsakh side is in constant contact with experts from Armenia.
As part of the comprehensive measures taken, all medical facilities were replenished with both single-use items and disinfectants, as well as laser thermometers. Earlier, the government reached an agreement with two local companies to produce, if necessary, protective masks that comply with established medical standards.
Speaking about acute respiratory infections in Artsakh, Baghiryan informed that there is a decrease in the level of circulation in all medical institutions of the republic, which is also noticeable according to the results of monitoring in preschool and educational institutions.
At the end of the meeting, Martirosyan made a statement urging citizens of the Artsakh Republic to avoid traveling abroad, except in extremely necessary cases.
