ArmInfo. The European voyage of Serzh Sargsyan and its main content is another argument in favor of "Yes" to the amendments to the Constitution. A similar opinion was expressed by ArmInfo, the head of the Center for Globalization and Regional Cooperation Stepan Grigoryan.
"The departure of the accused, ex-president, under investigation, to Brussels by permission of the judge, once again emphasized the seriousness of the problem of judicial institutions, the judiciary as a whole. That's why we must firmly say" Yes "to constitutional amendments on April 5, in order to start breaking down the old judicial system and building a new one. Courts must make decisions in accordance with clear legal regulations, and not for unclear reasons, "he stressed.
According to the political scientist, in Brussels, Sargsyan had meetings with quite serious people, to whom he transmitted, to put it mildly, inaccurate information about Armenia, describing the authorities as populists and the constitutional system as trampled. At the same time, the ex-president for some reason forgot to tell European partners that the current Constitution was actually adopted bypassing laws through falsifications.
According to Grigoryan's forecasts, the consequences of such a Brussels activity of Sargsyan will be rather severe both for Armenia and its authorities, as well as for its investment attractiveness. According to him, Republicans today use their own, acquired over a quarter of a century, ties against Armenia. Meanwhile, all this could be prevented by giving a political assessment of the criminal and essentially anti-people's activities of the RPA immediately after the change of power in the country.
"This has not been done. And today nothing prevents our European partners from having meetings, listening to the views of representatives of a legally registered political party. Accordingly, welcoming all the legislative changes announced and already being implemented by the authorities, I once again urge the RPA and not only the RPA to give a political assessment "Our foreign partners should clearly know that they are dealing with counterfeiters, criminals and people who are anti-people in nature," concluded Grigoryan.
Under the recognizance not to leave, the ex-president, leader of the Republican Party of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received permission from the court for his absence from Armenia in order to take part in important meetings in Brussels. Sargsyan, former Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, his deputy Samvel Galstyan and Flash owner Barsegh Beglaryan are accused of embezzlement of state funds for the purchase of diesel fuel. As a result of the "victory" in the tender, which made the Flash company less profitable, the state suffered damage of 489 million drams .
