ArmInfo.Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Artsakh Republic Armine Aleksanyan, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Cyprus, met with representatives of the Armenian community structures of Cyprus.
As the NKR MFA press service reports, the meeting was organized on the initiative of the state representative of the Armenian community in the Parliament of Cyprus, MP Vardges Mahtesyan. During the meeting, the Deputy Minister presented the priority directions of Artsakh's foreign policy, in particular, touched upon the international recognition of the republic, the processes of expanding international cooperation, as well as the current stage of the peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijani- Karabakh conflict.
At the request of the meeting participants, Armine Aleksanyan also presented the current situation in Artsakh, noting the importance of the upcoming March 31 state elections in the republic in terms of further strengthening democratic statehood.
Armine Aleksanyan also touched upon relations between Artsakh and the Diaspora, emphasizing the role of Armenian community structures both in preserving the Armenian identity in the Diaspora and in implementing various projects on the development of strategically important industries in the homeland, in particular in Artsakh. The parties noted the importance of holding such meetings periodically in order to exchange views on new areas of cooperation and determine further steps.
