ArmInfo. Hayk Grigoryan, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, held a working meeting on the qualifications of criminal offenses related to criminal subculture and the methodology for the investigation of these cases.
According to the press service of the IC, the meeting was attended by the leadership of the Investigative Committee and employees criminological department. During the working meeting, the head of the Criminological Department of the IC, R. Vardanyan, presented the developed guidelines for the investigation of criminal offenses, their disclosure, planning of investigations, proper organization, instructions on the tactical features of individual investigative actions, as well as opportunities for applying international experience.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee gave specific instructions. To recall, since mid-January, the Armenian police have been taking measures to combat criminal elements and eliminate the criminal subculture. Police special forces conduct raids against representatives of the "thieves' world." "Subculture carriers" were delivered to sections of the metropolitan police department. Earlier, ArmInfo reported that the country's parliament amended the Criminal Code, which provides for criminal prosecution for conferring, obtaining or maintaining the highest status in the criminal hierarchy, for creating or managing a group that is a carrier of a criminal subculture, for participating in or involving in such a group. Punishment is also provided for appealing to criminal authorities to obtain tangible or intangible benefits through their illegal influence.
