ArmInfo. Armenia attaches importance to the development and improvement of the legislative process through collaboration with international partners, which makes it more transparent and inclusive. This was announced yesterday at the meeting with the OSCE / ODIHR delegation by the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Kristine Grigoryan.
According to the press service of the RA Ministry of Justice, the purpose of the delegation's visit was to assess the needs arising from the cooperation of the legislative and executive authorities in the framework of legislative initiatives, and to contribute to the development of the potential of stakeholders in this process.
Kristine Grigoryan presented the delegation with a full chain of the legislative process, stressing that the current parliament has significantly expanded legislative initiatives, in the context of which she emphasized the importance of developing the institutional capacity of the parliament. The deputy minister also pointed out the importance of forming working groups of legislative initiatives in parliament, principles of legislative planning, as well as coordination of work between various commissions and factions.
Answering the questions of the delegation members, Kristine Grigoryan touched upon the accessibility of legislative projects of the government to the public through an electronic platform and their public discussions. She also presented the logic of legislative initiatives of various departments developing the process of sectoral strategic planning.
Summing up the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue cooperation.
