ArmInfo. Baku reported the death of a soldier after a shootout at the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border.
It should be noted that around midnight, the Spokesperson of the Armenian Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan said that the units of the Azerbaijani border troops launched a provocation on the Armenian- Azerbaijani state border in the Tavush direction. "For several days, the units of the Azerbaijani border troops from large-caliber weapons have been firing in the same direction. The units of the Armed Forces of Armenia, as a rule, have shown restraint, but targeted shots will not remain unanswered. All responsibility of these provocations and their consequences will remain on the Azerbaijani side." Hovhannisyan noted.
After this statement, the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Azerbaijan spread a statement with accusations. Moreover, they reported on a death of Azerbaijani serviceman. ''At about 7:10 pm, the Armenian Armed Forces violated the ceasefire on the contact line. Border guard Pashazade Orkhan , who served at a border guard point near the village of Gushchu Ayrim in the Gazakh region was killed as a result of a sniper shot. Responsibility for the murder of a serviceman guarding the internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan lies with the military-political leadership of Armenia. In connection with the incident, the necessary measures are being taken.
After this statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan made a hasty statement, which, in its usual manner, once again tried to shift all responsibility to the Armenian side, assuring that the incident had a deliberate nature, and the aggressor country Armenia was responsible for this.
"The killing of our military man, who defended the internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan, openly demonstrates that Armenia's appeals to resolve the conflict peacefully are nothing more than lies and hypocrisy. It is precisely such criminal and destructive activities of the military-political leadership of Armenia that directly impede the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by negotiations and thereby the efforts of the international community in the person of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, "Baku said.
