Pashinyan: "Yerkrapah" should become the guardian of our victories  and cannot be a part of any political force

ArmInfo. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia visited head office of the "Yerkrapah" Volunteer Unit and took part in commemorative events on the occasion of the  61st birthday of Sparapet Vazgen Sargsyan. 

During his speech at the event, the head of the Armenian Government  indicated the importance of holding it within this structure, since  "Yerkrapah" is a vivid reflection of the activity that was carried  out by Sparapet, and not so much from a physical point of view as  from the depth of the content.

At the same time, Pashinyan expressed his conviction that the respect  and honor that Sargsyan enjoys among the Armenian people is due to  the power that Sparapet possessed, that faith in his own strength to  change the fate of his own people, to change his future. "I believe  that in the early 1990s of the last century it was Vazgen Sargsyan  who has this faith, and it was this faith that infected hundreds and  thousands of our compatriots. I believe that it was thanks to this  faith that the victory in the Artsakh Liberation War was held,"  Pashinyan said and also expressed the conviction that faith has  always played a key role in the fate of the Armenian people.  At the  same time, Pashinyan considers the key task to do everything so that  as many citizens as possible believe in their strengths, abilities,  their own talent, which will allow the country to reach new heights.

At the same time, the Prime Minister of Armenia stated that victories  in the field of education, economy, science, in all possible areas  should have been added to this large-scale military victory of  Armenia. According to him, if these tasks were successfully  completed, today the Armenian society would not have a topic for  discussion.

"We wouldn't even discuss issues such as: can we really solve the  Artsakh issue; confront those security issues that exist in the  region and generally emanating from the world; discuss the issue of  where it is preferable for an Armenian citizen to live - in Armenia,  the USA or Europe. I don't want to mourn our lost dreams with these  words, I just want us to return to our agenda, because military  achievements will turn to dust if we do not strengthen them with  achievements in the economy, education, in the field of human rights,  democracy, equality before the law, etc. "said the Armenian Prime  Minister, adding that the task will be sent to all forces.

He also expressed his conviction that "Yerkrapah" should not become a  supporter or part of politics or political force, since the military  path that it has passed is undeniable - this value, which cannot  become the property of any force, especially political, as it is  popular achievement, wealth and pride.

Touching upon the role of "Yerkrapah" in modern realities, the Prime  Minister expressed his conviction that the purpose of the union  should be the preservation and development of the fighting spirit of  the Armenian people. "Recently, one commander shared his thoughts  with which I wanted to share with you. In particular, he said that  the main goal of regular army is not victory, but face the attack,  the initial shock, the subsequent development of the situation  depends on how it will manifest itself the rear, the reserve.  And I  believe that "Yerkrapah" should become our most efficient reserve.   "Yerkrapah" should become the guardians of our victories, " Pashinyan  said, expressing his conviction that the realization of this task is  connected so much with any political force as with the state, the  development agenda - Armenia and Artsakh, the Armenian people as a  whole.

To recall, Armenian State and military leader Vazgen Sargsyan, born  on March 5, 1959, died as a result of a terrorist attack on October  27, 1999.
