ArmInfo. Without a political and legal assessment of the activities of the Constitutional Court, the upcoming April 5 referendum on the Constitution is devoid of any content. On March 3, National Assembly MP Arman Babajanyan stated this from the rostrum of the parliament.
According to him, the upcoming referendum is designed to protect democratic values, but this requires an assessment of the activities of judges of the current composition of the Constitutional Court. Otherwise, the whole process will be devoid of any sense, as there will be no sending to the address of the Constitutional Court in a new composition.
To note, the referendum on constitutional amendments will be held on April 5. The campaign began on February 17 and will last until April 3. The draft amendments to the Constitution provides for the termination of powers of Chairman of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan and members of the court appointed before the reform of the Constitution in 2015.
