ArmInfo.The State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition of the Republic of Armenia calls on economic entities operating in the field of pharmaceuticals to refrain from unreasonably raising prices for medical face mask, antiviral drugs and other medical supplies, as well as from creating an artificial shortage in the market. This is stated in the message of the SCPEC.
At the same time, the SCPEC reports that monitoring is ongoing in this area. In the event of possible violations or abuses, the Commission will initiate administrative proceedings and take strict measures of liability as provided by law. This year, the SCPEC will conduct research on the market for drug turnover.
It should be noted that in connection with the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic, the state border between Armenia and Iran was closed for two months. According to the latest data, 43 cases of coronavirus infection have already been recorded in Iran. The number of victims reached eight people. On February 23, the consular department of the Armenian Embassy in Iran temporarily stopped registering and receiving citizens. The Armenian Foreign Ministry called on citizens of the republic not to visit Iran without emergency. And on February 22, a group of doctors was sent to the Meghri checkpoint to strengthen control of arriving and leaving citizens. Signs of a dangerous infection have not yet been found in anyone.
Recall that the number of victims of the coronavirus COVID-2019 in China, as of February 24, increased to 2592 people, 150 people died in the last day. Across the country, about 77.1 thousand cases of infection were registered, 24.7 thousand of those infected recovered.
