ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on the eve met with Toivo Klaar, Special Representative of the European Union for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia.
As the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia reports, during the meeting the interlocutors touched on the process of peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Both sides emphasized the need to attach real significance to the agreements on preparing peoples for peace.
In connection with this issue, the Armenian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of public signals and messages about the need for peace for their societies at the level of the leadership of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Mnatsakanyan said that the Azerbaijani side continues to publicly take the maximalist position, denying the right of the people of Artsakh, which does not allow progress in the peace process. The parties exchanged views on the multilateral agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, touched upon pressing international and regional issues.
