ArmInfo. There must not be suicides and attempts of suicide in our army; death in our army should be only from the bullets of the enemy. On February 18,  Andranik Kocharian, the head of the parliamentary commission on  defense and security, said this in a conversation with reporters.

He emphasized that efforts must be made to create such an environment  in the army in which there will be fraternal relations between the  soldiers, as well as between the leadership and the soldiers, but  there is no place in the army for "homies", according to Kocharyan.

Kocharyan stated that during a closed meeting of MPs with the head of  the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Artak Davtyan, a  question was raised related to the "elite" military units. "We  considered that all military units in Artsakh are elite, in view of  their military training," the MP emphasized, noting that the unit in  which the suicide occurred was not bad in terms of combat training.   At the same time, Kocharyan admitted that there is inequality and  discrimination in every military unit, which ultimately leads to  tragic consequences. "We discussed precisely these issues. Even an  ordinary cell phone can become one of the manifestations of  inequality. The commander must clearly feel the environment and the  situation in the unit he manages," he emphasized. When asked why so  many cases of suicide occur in the Artsakh Defense Army, the MP said  that such formulations are very dangerous, since the armies of  Armenia and the NKR are a single whole. "There are more military  problems in Artsakh that need to be solved perfectly. But we have  developed relations that need to be healed, and this is our guarantee  of success," Kocharian emphasized. There is no separate security  system between Armenia and Artsakh. The one who raises this topic  gives our enemy the opportunity to feel more confident militarily. I  can say with confidence that there were no fraudulent crimes, "the  deputy concluded.

It should be noted that a joint closed meeting of the Permanent  Parliamentary Commission on Human Rights and Public Affairs and the  Permanent Parliamentary Commission on Defense and Security, which was  attended by the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of  Armenia Artak Davtyan, was held in the parliament on February 18.  During the meeting, frequent cases of deaths in the army were  discussed.  Since January of this year, 13 soldiers have already  died.
