ArmInfo. Son of the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan - Levon Kocharyan, does not plan to adjoin the "NO" campaign by constitutional referendum.
On February 18 explaining his position, Kocharyan, in an interview with reporters, noted that he considered the referendum an illegal process. According to him, the decision to hold a referendum on amendments to the Constitution is a great stupidity and an attempt by the authorities to get a controlled Constitutional Court.
Kocharyan also questioned the possibility of his cooperation with the former NSS director Arthur Vanetsyan, as well as the likelihood of his activity in the political arena. To note, today Co-founder of the Path of Law NGO Ruben Melikyan, who represents the "NO" campaign noted that the process of approving the referendum was illegal and unconstitutional, noting that the absence of the "NO" campaign could be a threat to statehood, Melikyan assured that there would be no elements of hostility and hatred in the statements of "NO" campegn and his activities would unfold exclusively in the legal field.
To recall, the referendum on constitutional reforms will be held on April 5 this year. On his agenda is the dissolution of the Constitutional Court. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan headed the "Yes" campaign formed by the Civil Contract party.
