ArmInfo. The Bright Armenia Party considers political persecution an audit in the Council of Elders of Vanadzor. Armen Yeghiazaryan, a member of the party's faction, said this on February 11 from the rostrum of the National Assembly.
According to him, the company conducted an audit in the third-largest and most important city of Armenia to assess financial and economic activity, and, among other issues, sent questionnaires to the heads of non-profit organizations with a request to provide information on the presence of representatives of the Bright Armenia party and complaints regarding them. "Condemning such actions, we consider them political persecution, which does not fit into the proclaimed slogans about the development of democracy," the MP said. At the same time, he stated that it is still unclear whether the audit company acted on its own initiative or not, the source that had given such an instruction is also unclear, however, these actions directly fit into the statement of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia on a tough rebuff all those forces that will oppose the policy of reform. "Unfortunately, we are witnessing actions that lead the country to authoritarianism and uncontrolled actions. Obviously, there are" brights" everywhere, including in these non-profit organizations," the MP said.
