ArmInfo. On February 11, Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly Vahe Enfiajyan received Igor Nazaruuk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Armenia. This was reported by the press service of the parliament.
According to the source, Enfiajyan emphasized the historically developed friendly relations between Armenia and Belarus, the development of inter-parliamentary interaction. During the regular meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the National Assembly of Belarus, the National Assembly Vice-Speaker proposed to adopt a memorandum on the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. "This is our common history, our common victory," Enfiajyan noted.
Stressing the importance of the vice speaker's proposal, Igor Nazaruk praised the significant contribution of Armenians to the liberation of Belarus from fascism. He announced the publication last year of the book "Armenian soldiers in the struggle for Belarus during the war years." The meeting touched upon the deepening of cooperation in a number of areas, in particular, the development of trade and economic ties was considered mutually beneficial.
According to the ambassador, in 2019, the volume of imports from Belarus to Armenia increased by 144%. Exports from Armenia to Belarus also increased. According to Nazaruk, if in 2018 the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to 50.1 million dollars, then in 2019 - already 73 million. The ambassador expressed readiness to promote the development of inter-parliamentary relations between Armenia and Belarus, as well as cooperation in various fields.
