Alen Simonyan expressed his conviction that a large number of people  will participate in the referendum. "Definitely the activity will be  much higher than 650,000 people. The campaign will be very active and  interesting," Simonyan concluded.  It should be noted that on  February 6, theArmenian parliament decided to submit draft amendments  to the Constitution to the referendum. 88 MPs voted for this  decision, against- 15, abstained-0. Many MPs and human rights  activists said that this decision is unconstitutional, since  initially the MPs had to send their proposal to the Constitutional  Court. Recall that even before the vote, the Prosperous Armenia  faction stated that it would not take part in the vote. Nevertheless,  RA President Armen Sarkissian signed a decree on holding a referendum  on April 5.
