ArmInfo. On February 11, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein Al Hashimi, in the government. Pashinyan said this during a live broadcast on his Facebook page. Pashinyan noted that relations with Jordan and the Middle East are very important for Armenia, as they are considered as a direction of strategic partnership.
"I am very glad to see your economic delegation. Moreover, the delegation members and I are going to sign a document for effective economic development. I would like to note that our people have preserved a positive memory of your country. It was your country and your people who supported the Armenian Genocide survivors. This is a very strong basis for our relations, "the Prime Minister emphasized. In turn, King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein stated that Armenia plays a huge role in the region. He emphasized that he arrived in Armenia in honor of the 100th anniversary of relations between Jordan and "the Armenians who suffered in the region."
The king also emphasized the significant role of the Armenian community of Jordan. "I think that we will continue to work closely. I also met with representatives of the private sector who are interested in developing our relations. I think we have a lot of work to do in the future," the King of Jordan concluded.
