ArmInfo. The Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Council collegium Mikhail Myasnikovich who is on an official visit to Armenia, praised the results of work with the highest political leadership of the republic.
''I am very pleased with the results of work with the highest political leadership of Armenia. We discussed almost all issues that relate to the further development of the Eurasian Economic Union and my work as chairman of the EEC board. We paid attention to removing barriers and those obstacles, which, unfortunately, still exist in our market. Everything must be done to ensure that the Eurasian market is truly without exemptions and restrictions", Myasnikovich noted at a briefing in Yerevan on February 7.
According to him, this concerns not only the elimination of existing obstacles, but also the prevention of new ones. As noted, the Armenian side expressed support for the raised issues of unification and harmonization of the laws of the five countries. According to Myasnikovich, this is necessary so that decisions taken by national governments and parliaments do not conflict with EAEU law.
The Armenian side was also supported by the proposal to form development institutions. <One should not stop there and preserve the economic potential that the EAEU member countries have today. It is worth thinking about increasing the competitiveness of national economies, more actively positioning themselves in the markets of third countries and seriously working on import substitution>, the head of the EEC board noted. Myasnikovich expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan for discussing a wide range of issues, including those related to the international positioning of the EAEU. "A very warm conversation took place, and I am very grateful to Pashinyan for supporting all of the initiatives outlined," he said, adding that an agreement was reached on building further communications.
Myasnikovich also thanked First Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan for the constructive proposals that were made as recommendations for him as the new chairman of the EEC collegium.
