ArmInfo.The Prosecutor's Office received a case from the investigating authorities against former President of the National Assembly, Ara Babloyan, and former deputy chief of staff of the parliament, Arsen Babayan. The spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General's Office Arevik Khachatryan stated this in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent.
To note, the Special Investigation Service has previously stated that the investigation of the case has been completed. However, on December 24, the Prosecutor's Office returned the case for further investigation. Now the SIS again sent the case to the Prosecutor's Office to confirm the indictment.
It should be noted that earlier the SIS reported that it received factual evidence that in March 2018, in the process of Gagik Harutyunyan's resignation of the powers of the President of the Constitutional Court, officials, based on group interests, personally and also through non-officials, committed official forgery with the aim of appointing head of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan. In fact, a criminal case was opened against usurpation of power, within the framework of which charges were brought against Ara Babloyan and Arsen Babayan.
Ara Babloyan is charged under part 1 of article 300 and part 1 of article 314 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and Arsen Babayan is charged with part 1 of article 38-300 and part 1 of article 314 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
