ArmInfo. The National Security Service of Armenia disclosed cases of deferment from military service and early demobilization on false medical documents.
According to the SNB press service, data were received that the senior neurologist of the neurological department of the medical association number 2 in 2019 was included in the commission for medical examination, examination and treatment of draftees. The doctor conspired with a friend for a bribe, after which she drew up false medical documents, according to which conscripts could receive a deferment from military service. Then, with the help of this acquaintance, the doctor received a bribe from relatives of 4 recruits in the amount of $ 8.500.
Information was also received that the aforementioned mediator received money in the amount of $ 45,000 from draftees' relatives during 2019 in order to issue bribes to representatives of the competent authorities. The latter were supposed in exchange for bribes to provide these citizens with a reprieve from the army, or early demobilization.
A criminal case has been instituted in the NSS of Armenia. The aforementioned doctor confessed to a crime. A preliminary investigation is underway.
