According to the press service of the RA government, Avinyan, in particular, stated: "We have gathered to discuss the epidemic situation related to the coronavirus. And also to discuss measures that need to be taken in Armenia and abroad. I want to inform you that the number people infected with coronavirus reached around 10,000, mostly in Wuhan, China. However, cases have already been reported in the United States, Canada, the European Union and the Middle East. "
Avinyan proposed the Minister of Healthcare to present the current situation, as well as measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus. "I will also ask the Deputy Foreign Minister to present the situation of those citizens of the Republic of Armenia who would like to return home, and whether any actions have been taken in this direction," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Minister of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan presented the measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus, as well as the necessary control mechanisms for citizens arriving in the country. Torosyan noted that, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, intensive work is underway to obtain laboratory tests necessary for the diagnosis of coronavirus. Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts noted that the Armenian Embassy in China is in constant contact with about 600 of our citizens and is taking the necessary actions.
At the meeting, the possibility of temporary suspension of the visa regime with China was discussed. At the end, the Deputy Prime Minister gave relevant instructions to the heads of departments.
