ArmInfo.A shared responsibility should help us to move forward with "New Armenia", which brilliantly tackles this difficult challenge of democratic and economic growth, and which I would like to pay tribute to here.
As the press service of the French Embassy in Armenia reported to ArmInfo, French President Emmanuel Macron stated this at an annual dinner organized by the Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF)
"A young state: we can applaud the leaders of the state. A young state, an ancient nation whose historical tragedies make it more aware of the importance of living in the present, using its opportunities and enjoying modernity. I would also like to reaffirm my respect for Armenia, which, by the way, with the help of the velvet revolution, perfectly demonstrated to the world its ability to carry out the revolution peacefully, without external influence, respecting the rule of law and institutions. This is an almost unprecedented example in our modern history, "Macron emphasized.
The French president also welcomed Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, recalling that the latter accompanied him at the Francophonie summit in October 2018, and then attended a farewell to the great chansonnier Charles Aznavour.
"Mr. Pashinyan, I would like to welcome you and your spouse and the whole family for a worthy activity that we will continue to support, and you know to what extent. I would like to note that we were not only impressed, but also launched a number of projects. The President of the Ile-de-France region, Valerie Pecresse, expressed his region's commitment to implement a number of projects, many other local authorities followed his example in promoting these common projects, and the French University in Armenia is an evidence of such a cooperation. We are dealing with the policy of French-speaking countries, an active French-speaking, economic, legal, academic and cultural policy of integration into a globalized economy, which is being implemented and gives a new impetus, "the French leader emphasized.
Mentioning the TUMO initiative, Macron assured that together with the French University in Armenia, the French Institute, the Charles Aznavour Foundation, as well as economic, cultural figures, they will continue to make efforts for the implementation of each major project.
"I would like to emphasize that we intend, together with the Diaspora, to continue to contribute to this new Armenia, in favor of relations with France, Frenchmen of Armenian descent, relations between Armenia and France, because I am aware of all the challenges that the new Armenia is so bravely confronting. Just by glancing at the map, we will see great dangers and the world facing them. With such democratic vitality and such a tragic history, France's duty is to stand with Armenia," Macron concluded.
