A criminal case has been instituted on the fact of the incident in Erebuni Plaza on points 2, 3 and 7 of the 2nd part of article 218, the first part of article 235 and the first paragraph of part 1of article 185 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The press secretary of the RA Investigative Committee Naira Harutyunyan stated this on her Facebook page.
According to the source, a man born in 1987 was arrested. On behalf of the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Hayk Grigoryan, the case was transferred to the Serious Crimes Investigation Department of the Investigation Department of the IC of Yerevan.
To note, today at 2:40pm the police received a signal that an unknown person opened fire at the Erebuni Plaza business center. Police officers of Armenia went to the scene. After the negotiations, personally conducted by acting Police Chief Arman Sargsyan, a citizen surrendered weapons.
According to eyewitnesses, before opening fire, a citizen was looking for the office of the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan. Meanwhile, the head of the office of the second president of Armenia Viktor Soghomonyan noted that at the moment he does not have information about the circumstances of the incident. "If it turns out that the incident has something to do with us, I will make a comment or statement," said V. Soghomonyan.
