ArmInfo. The Government of Armenia guarantees that it will make every effort to ensure that the case of Georgi Kutoyan's death is completely reve aled. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this on January 22 from the rostrum of the parliament.
He emphasized that a criminal case has been opened in the Investigative Committee of Armenia on the fact of bringing to suicide. "Now the investigation is considering exactly this version. I believe that members of the Kutoyan's family should closely cooperate with the investigating authority in order for this case to be disclosed," Pashinyan emphasized.
The Prime Minister noted that representatives of the former government began to declare that the Armenian government did not properly respond to the death of Georgi Kutoyan. According to Pashinyan, this is not true. "Employees of the National Security Service of Armenia and members of the Security Council took part in the funeral for Kutoyan. I expressed my condolences to the family of the deceased. I think we have done all that is necessary," Pashinyan noted.
It should be noted that in one of the apartments on Paruyr Sevak Street in Yerevan on January 17, the body of the former director of the National Security Service of Armenia Georgi Kutoyan was found with traces of a gunshot wound. The body was discovered by his wife. Law enforcers found weapons and dozens of bullets and shells at the scene. A criminal case was instituted under Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (bringing to suicide), however, the IC did not exclude that in consequence the case could be qualified as murder. Everything will depend on the results of the materials collected based on the results of multiple examinations.
