ArmInfo. At present, there is no need for quarantine measures in connection with a new type of coronavirus in Armenia.
Head of the RA Ministry of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan stated this from the parliamentary rostrum on January 22. The Minister informed that discussions on the situation around the 2019-nCoV coronavirus are being conducted at the international level, and an official statement by the World Health Organization (WHO) is expected in the coming hours. As noted, today in Armenia there is no need for special quarantine measures (closing borders or restricting passenger flow). As before, the republic continues to monitor the health status of arriving passengers with the help of thermal imagers that record the human body temperature, and at the moment there have been no cases of concern that have been identified.
The Minister emphasized that measures aimed at preventing the penetration of a new type of coronavirus into the republic, as well as warning the public about precautions, will be implemented if necessary.
According to the BBC, to date, 440 cases of infection with the 2019-nCoV virus have been confirmed, which were detected not only in China, but also penetrated into the United States, Thailand and South Korea.
