Thus, the statement published on the CEC website by the head of the Central Electoral Commission Srbuhi Arzumanyan, in particular, reads: "In accordance with Article 89 part 1 of the Artsakh Constitution, the next presidential election is held 50 days before the expiration of the term of office of the current head of state. According to Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Artsakh, regular elections to the National Assembly are held simultaneously with the election of the President of the Republic.
Article 97 (2) and article 121 (2) of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Artsakh stipulate that the chairman of the Central Election Commission announces the voting date no later than 70 days before the election. Guided by the above provisions of the Constitution and the Electoral Code of the Republic of Artsakh, March 31, 2020 is declared the day of the next election of the President of the Republic of Artsakh and the National Assembly.
On the basis of Article 97 (3) of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Artsakh, the election day on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, was declared a day off.
