Zohrab Mnatsakanyan: Armenia is concerned about the destabilization  of the Middle East

ArmInfo. Armenia is concerned about the instability in the Middle East. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated this in a conversation with reporters.   Mnatsakanyan noted that cooperation with colleagues continues. 

"We conduct telephone calls with them, our diplomatic corps is also  actively working. Naturally, the situation is quite tense, and it  cannot but cause concern, as there is a disagreement between our  immediate partners. However, the entire security system of Armenia is  working very well to change the situation didn't take us by  surprise>, the Minister emphasized. 

In conclusion, the Armenian Foreign Minister expressed hope that the  situation could be resolved peacefully.  To note, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan  was invited today to meet with MPs from the  "My Step" ruling bloc.  He noted that the range of issues was quite wide. We will  discuss our work and processes taking place in the region, "the  minister emphasized.  The situation in the Middle East escalated  after the assassination of influential General Qasem Soleimani. On  January 5, the Iraqi parliament ordered the government "to put an end  to the military presence of foreign forces and to cease work under  the security agreement concluded with the forces of the international  anti-terror coalition." In the following days, Iran launched a series  of rocket attacks on US bases in Iraq. 16 hours after the shelling  began, US President Donald Trump announced the US's readiness for  peace, while at the same time announcing new sanctions against Iran.
