ArmInfo.Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Varos Simonyan and Czech Ambassador to RA Bedrich Kopecky discussed the prospects of Armenian-Czech relations during the meeting on January 14.
As the press service of the Ministry of Economy told ArmInfo, in particular, the interlocutors discussed preparations for the conduct of the Armenian-Czech intergovernmental commission on economic issues in the foreseeable future.
Varos Simonyan, who is also the chairman of the aforementioned commission on the Armenian side, expressed his conviction that the upcoming regular meeting of the intergovernmental commission will help to reveal new mutually beneficial directions for deepening cooperation. He also expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Czech Republic has ratified the agreement on a comprehensive and expanded Armenia-EU partnership.
In turn, the Czech diplomat suggested holding a meeting of the aforementioned commission in March this year, noting that Radek Vondracek, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, is scheduled to visit Armenia for this period.
At the same time, the diplomat informed that the Czech delegation will include businessmen, which will allow organizing a meeting of Armenian and Czech business circles in B2B format.
The ambassador also said that the commission is co-chaired by the Czech Republic's deputy minister of industry and trade, Martina Tauberova.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to begin preparations for the next meeting of the Armenian- Czech intergovernmental commission.
