ArmInfo. In case of loss of documents of legal importance, notaries of Armenia will have the right to register these documents in the presence of evidence.
At the January 9 meeting, the Government of the Republic of Armenia approved amendments to the Law on notaries and the package of related laws, which will be submitted to the country's parliament in the established manner.
According to RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan, there are often cases in which, in the absence of facts of legal significance, citizens of the country are not able to assert their rights. This, in particular, refers to cases of loss of marriage certificates, birth certificates, inheritance rights, errors in documents, etc. Now it is proposed to establish a provision according to which notaries and courts will be entitled to issue these documents on the basis of testimony. Criminal liability is provided for giving false testimonies. The package establishes the procedure for the submission of evidence, and measures of responsibility for giving false evidence. Thereby, as the Minister noted, the procedure for obtaining lost documents will be facilitated. Complexity can arise only in cases of false testimony.
