ArmInfo. The author of the fake Facebook page "Diana Harutyunyan" was arrested, from which false information was disseminated about allegedly congratulating the President of the United States on the occasion of a special operation in Iran by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to the NSS press service, the man was charged under clause 1 of part 2 of article 226 (inciting national, racial or religious hatred, publicly or using media) and part 1 of article 254 (illegal seizure of computer information) of the RA Criminal Code. As a measure of restraint, arrest was chosen.
Earlier, on January 3, on the Diana Harutyunyan page on Facebook, information was published that Pashinyan allegedly congratulated US President Donald Trump on the operation against Iran. This fake news was disseminated by the Azerbaijani and Iranian media. Meanwhile, Pashinyan on his Facebook page issued a rebuttal, noting that the incident threatens the interests of national security of Armenia. The identity of the author of the fake account <Diana Harutyunyan> was established by law enforcement on January 5, after which the man was detained. Recall that on the night of January 3, the United States conducted an operation near the Baghdad international airport, during which the Iranian general Kassem Suleimani and the deputy head of the Iraqi Shiite militia Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were killed.
