ArmInfo. The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia revealed a case of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale.
According to the NSS press service, during the investigation, information was received that in 2009 an official leading the community of Yerevan received a bribe of $ 75 thousand from the founder of the construction company for the promise of assistance, and also required to allocate an apartment of 200 square meters in the building under construction apartment for the needs of Yerevan Municipality. The required amount was received by the mayor in parts during 2009, including through the mediation of his brother and some employees of the municipality. A criminal case has been opened in the investigation department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia; preliminary investigation is underway.
It should be added that until the spring of 2009, Yerevan Municipality was led by Yervand Zakharyan, and since May of that year - Gagik Beglaryan.
