ArmInfo. On one of the central streets of Yerevan, the "Walking Man" sculpture by the famous sculptor Arto Chakmakchyan will be installed. The corresponding decision was adopted on December 16 at an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Elders of Yerevan.
The sculpture will be installed on Northern avenue, in the territory adjacent to Abovyan Street.
The melting and installation of the sculpture will be carried out by the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
Arto Chakmakchyan was born in Cairo, lived and worked in Armenia until 1975, after which he moved to Canada. His works are presented in many cities and museums of the world, is one of the prominent representatives of modern Armenian art. Arto Chakmakchyan's works are displayed in squares and museums around the world. The master always dreamed of having one of his works in Yerevan. Back in the early 2000s, he was promised to install the "Walking Man" sculpture on Northern Avenue.
